MAKILING CHALLENGE
The Makiling Challenge 7 is a 5km fun run and 10km competitive race along the slopes of Mt. Makiling. It was held on September 14, 2008 with the theme: "Takbo sa Isang Daan, Tawag ng Kalikasan" signifying the environmental awareness advocacy of the event coinciding with the centennial celebrations of the University of the Philippines.

RACE RULES and REGULATIONS
• The Makiling Challenge is open to all runners and fitness enthusiasts, men and women.
• Participants who are below 18 years old on the day of the race must have their registration form and waiver signed by their parent or guardian.
REGISTRATION
• A non-refundable registration fee of Php 180.00 must accompany each entry.
• For those coming the night before the race day, the registration fee will be Php 350.00, inclusive of the lodging fee. Last day of confirmation is on August 30.
• First 50 paid UP student registrants will get a discount and will only pay Php 160.00.
• First 100 paid registrants (regular fee of Php 180.00) will receive additional sling bag apart from the race packet and singlet.
• Deadline for entries will be on September 12, 2008 after which late entries will be charged Php 200.00 for registration.
• Registration may also be done through e-mail at reg.mach7@macrunners.org (also: reg.mac7@macrunners.org/reg.mak7@macrunners.org). Entry fee to be deposited to Makiling Campus Runners at any Landbank branch savings account no. 1891-0596-00. Entry will be accepted upon confirmation with the bank (please secure a copy of the deposit slip).
RACE DAY
• The race organizers shall not be held responsible for any result beyond its reasonable control.
• The race organizers reserve the right to disqualify or withdraw any participant prior to or during the race.
• The race organizers have the right to alter the rules and regulations whenever necessary without prior notice to participants to ensure success of the event.
• All protest related to results must be in written form, addressed to the organizers, and must be submitted within one (1) hour after the race ends. Verbal protests shall not be honored.
LITTERING
• To comply with the municipal ordinance against littering (penalty at least Php 300.00), runners are requested to drop/throw their spent drinking containers within 20 meters from the water stations, for cleaning thereafter. Other trash material should be thrown in trash bins.
